“In 5 years your wealth will equal the average of your 5 closest friends.”

I love that quote from Kevin Trudeau, and i’ve heard it said similarly by others… it is so very true… but I would also say that true wealth cannot be measured the way that the world currently measures it. one of the most difficult things for me to learn has been that 100% of this life here on earth is about meeting other people’s needs and helping them fulfill their own dreams using the talents that you’ve been given, what-ever they are. too frequently we have the selfish tendency of trying to fit those people around us into our own box, neatly defined and wrapped with a bow… thinking that somehow we are going to meet our own needs by doing this. what’s even crazier is that so many of us are out there living by this pattern every day, and so i think this is why it is so seldom that people’s needs are truly met or dreams fulfilled… because people hardly stop and ask… ‘what can i do for YOU?’ without first thinking… ‘what can you do for ME?’ …

the chilling effect that this has on people… is that they give up and don’t bother dreaming anymore… they lose hope, become bitter, watch from the sidelines as their dreams are deferred… blame sets in, and as a result, they stop growing.

take another look at your ‘warm market’ … those 327 friends in your MySpace list… the people you work with… the people you go to church with… and start asking them… ‘what can i do for YOU?’.
