Grilled Steak Au Poivre (aka ‘Pittsburgh’)

One of my favorite past times is asking for this when-ever a waitress / server asks me ‘how would you like that done?’. Most grill masters are lucky to know varying degrees of burnt offering to baal when it comes to steak… and the front end staff of most restaurants are not going to know [...]

Chateau Ste. Michelle 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon

I haven’t actually reviewed a wine in quite a while… and I had someone comment on another review, so I figured may-haps I’d finish off a bottle and review it while I was in the mood. :)Melissa and I have always been happy with the Chateau Ste. Policy of non-involvement?

I’ve been keeping up since last spring with the protests of Pakistan’s lawyers after the current dictator General Musharaff attempted to oust Chief Justice Chaudhry who was well known for opposing the government in his rulings. opinion-aided

I have gotten into the habit of writing frequent letters and emails to my elected officials. Particularly to my congressmen and senators, as these folks are apparently supposed to be the ones making the most amount of difference for me and my state.
One thing that I have noticed in doing this… is that none of [...]

Butt Licker

All this week, Melissa has been yelling at Güenther … ‘Stop licking my butt!’. He’s developed this habit of sniffing her behind, and then licking it. Today I finally owned up to the reason why. All this week, I have been putting a small bit of peanut butter on the back of her jeans, thereby [...]

Ceviche

Warning: Ceviche is basically a raw fish / sushi salad or salsa that is ‘cooked’ chemically in a lime citrus juice. If you have an aversion to raw fish… this is not your huckleberry. Otherwise, enjoy! I first had this as an appetizer at a small place called ‘George’s Bistro’ on the 3rd street promenade [...]
