Barfield Crescent Park

melissa and i took the dog for a walk to Barfield Crescent park today. we’ve been there before, but never with Güenther. i have to say that i am really enjoying having a dog, and ours is especially fun. we let him off the lead for a bit when we got further into the woods, and he didn’t run at all. in fact, he only ranged so far as he was able to see us. a few times during the walk, he would be in-between us and one of us would lag behind (to tie a shoe or whatever). when this happened, he would wait and look back and forth at each of us, ahead and behind him, making sure that we were all togther. the whole walk, he was within 15 to 20 feet of us. keep in mind that he’s only 6 months old, still a puppy!

so… barfield is actually a pretty cool place. they have camping, disc golf, and several levels of hiking along 7 miles of paved and unpaved trails, one of which walks down by a small creek. we usually see deer and squirrels, but not today. it was pretty nice out there though, and there were quite a few people walking… some with other dogs.
